Mr. Taylor was born in 1933 into a hard working laboring family, one of ten children, and education was part correspondence school due to living in an isolated area of New Zealand. The author left home at age fifteen, doing unskilled laboring work until a door opened at age seventeen to join a small manufacturing company as a factory hand, later becoming the company's sales representative. Four years of travelling the length and breadth of New Zealand, uneducated, dreadful handwriting, few social skills, culminated in the author learning heaps of lessons. Later in life Mr. Taylor transferred to a large clothing manufacturing company as a regional representative. His involvement eventually led to a twenty-six year career where he experienced many positions, finally travelling extensively around the world as the Associate Director, after which retail fashion shoe stores were established in Auckland for seven years before retiring.

Retirement has provided Mr. Taylor with the opportunity to contemplate and act upon the instructions that he received and recorded on the original envelope 25 years prior. The content was so powerful and valuable, the author never ever once considered discarding the written words. Through the author's recognition, acceptance, and participation in life's journey he has merged the essence of his many experiences with the recorded title Sign Posts and now offers the words of wisdom to the people of the world.
